The archaeological site of Tulum, one of the most visited tourist spots in the Riviera Maya, has received a record number of visitors this year. According to Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), the popular Mayan site received 300,000 visitors last month, 50,000 more visitors than last year during the same period. This encouraging news was well received by members of the community and entrepreneurs of the tourism industry, given the concern for the arrival of unprecedented quantities of sargassum throughout the Caribbean.

The great cultural and entertainment diversity of the Riviera Maya has been key to lessen the ravages caused by the arrival of sargassum to the beaches of the Riviera Maya, offering its visitors alternative activities that have made it possible to resolve the unfavorable conditions that currently have their coasts

This increase in the flow of visitors is a favorable signal for the tourism sector, offering an encouraging outlook for the coming months and making evident the solidity of the Mexican tourist infrastructure.
